Electrical / Telecommunications Trades Assistant – Position: Electrical or Telecommunications Trades Assistant Location: Western Australia (DAMA Region) Employment Type: Full time, ongoing Salary Range: $55,000 – $80,000 per annum (Visa Pathway: WA DAMA Labour Agreement – Subclass 482 ANZSCO: (Electrical TA) / (Telecommunications TA)

Key Duties (WA DAMA & SC482 aligned) n

n
- Assisting licensed tradespersons — support electricians/technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks
n
- Cable installation — pull, lay, terminate, and secure electrical or data cabling under supervision
n
- Equipment setup — prepare tools, materials, ladders, testing devices, and work areas
n
- Site preparation — assist with drilling, mounting, fixing brackets, conduits, trays, and enclosures
n
- Testing assistance — support licensed tradespersons with basic continuity tests, tagging, and safety checks
n
- Fault finding support — help identify issues by preparing equipment, documenting faults, and following instructions
n
- Telecommunications support — assist with NBN, fibre, copper,



wireless, and structured cabling installations
n
- Material handling — load/unload materials, organise stock, and maintain tool inventory
n
- Safety compliance — follow WHS procedures, PPE requirements, lock out/tag out instructions, and site safety rules
n
- Documentation — complete basic job sheets, material logs, and installation records
n
- General labouring — cleaning work areas, removing debris, and supporting tradespersons as required
n

Required Qualifications & Experience nn
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience assisting electricians or telecommunications technicians
n
- Basic understanding of electrical or data cabling systems
n
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
n
- White Card (mandatory)
n
- EWP, Working at Heights, or First Aid (advantageous)
n
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work in varied environments
n
- Positive communication and teamwork skills
