We’re looking for an experienced Data Architect to provide technical leadership across a large-scale federal government data environment.

n

This is a senior role focused on Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Data Integration and Data Delivery , working closely with development teams, data consumers and other technical stakeholders to design and govern effective data solutions.

n

Key responsibilities will include:

n

n
- Providing technical leadership through design reviews, technical workshops and guidance on implementation best practice
n
- Reviewing and refining data delivery frameworks, including integration of new data sources and performance improvements
n
- Defining peer review, data modelling and release standards
n
- Providing knowledge transfer and mentoring across data modelling, development and release processes
n
- Leading the technical implementation of recent data from analysis through to delivery
n
- Driving continuous improvement across delivery principles, coding standards and documentation
n
- Prioritising work items and supporting delivery planning
n
- Analysing and sizing user requirements
n
- Providing guidance on Conceptual, Logical and Physical data models
n




- Reviewing data models and designs and providing technical guidance to engineers and modellers
n
- Maintaining technical and system documentation
n
- Working closely with data consumers, database developers, testers and IT support teams
n
- Supporting the development of consumable reporting and analytics to address business risks and emerging trends
n

You’ll need strong experience across enterprise data environments, with demonstrated capability in:

n

n
- Data Architecture , including enterprise-scale conformed data models and analytical data design
n
- AWS cloud data environments , including S3 and contemporary cloud data warehouse technologies
n
- Technical leadership across Cloud Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms
n
- ETL and data governance design and implementation
n
- Data modelling, including peer review and providing guidance to technical teams
n
- DevOps processes
n
- Version control and appropriate branching/release practices
n
- Data modelling tools such as Erwin
n
- Strong SQL skills, with experience in contemporary analytics languages such as Python or R highly regarded
n
- Reverse engineering end-user SQL and interpreting existing data models and specifications
n
- Metadata or model-driven frameworks
n

n

Experience working in an Agile environment is also highly regarded.
