We are hiring a Manager – Operational Support. This role is a SCHADS Level 8 ($138,043- $143,477) pay point dependent on experience, plus 12% superannuation and up to $15,990 salary packaging. This is a full-time ongoing position.

About the role

The Manager – Operational Support leads GenWest's organisation-wide operational support function, ensuring our workplaces, accommodation, properties and operational infrastructure enable safe, effective and high-quality service delivery.

The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer. This role provides leadership and oversight of operational support across GenWest's offices, service sites, refuge and Crisis Accommodation Program (CAP) properties. The portfolio includes client accommodation readiness, property and workplace operations, workplace ergonomics, fleet and assets, building safety and security, contractors and suppliers, business continuity and other operational projects.

This role establishes clear systems, priorities and service standards to ensure operational support is coordinated, responsive and consistent across the organisation. An inherent requirement of this role is to support a positive, safe and welcoming client experience by ensuring GenWest's operational environments, accommodation, facilities and practical supports enable high-quality service delivery.

While the role does not provide direct client services, it plays an significant role in creating the conditions for effective and responsive service delivery and enabling service managers and practitioners to focus on their work with clients.

Key responsibilities include:

- Lead the operational planning of site establishment and maintenance, including relocations,



to ensure continuity of client service delivery.
- Work closely with managers to respond to urgent accommodation needs, ensuring the safety, dignity, accessibility and practical needs of victim survivors and children are central to operational decisions.
- Maintain day-to-day operational readiness of GenWest's offices, service sites, refuge and CAP properties so that client service delivery is uninterrupted outside of any transition or project activity.
- Oversee budget control across the operations function, including fund allocation, ongoing expense tracking, and variance analysis against approved budgets, escalating discrepancies and recommending corrective action to safeguard financial stability and support informed decision-making.
- Establish appropriate contractor management arrangements including induction, compliance, performance monitoring and evaluation, with particular attention to contractors working in client-facing or confidential environments.
- Provide oversight of operational contractors, suppliers and service providers, with Operational Support Officers coordinating day-to-day scheduling, access and service requests.
- Oversee operational purchasing and supplier arrangements in accordance with GenWest procurement requirements and delegated authority, working closely with the finance team.
- Oversee the sourcing,



purchasing and delivery of furniture, whitegoods, household goods and other essential items required to establish and maintain client accommodation.
- Ensure operational considerations are incorporated early into service development, organisational growth and change initiatives.

About you

- A high degree of administrative capability, including safety and regulatory reporting, record-keeping and the use of relevant business systems.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating operations across multiple sites or services, including leading engagement and consultation with workforces on operational and workplace change.
- A high degree of data literacy, software proficiency, and process automation skills, including process mapping, root cause analysis, and quality assurance capability.
- Sound problem-solving ability is an inherent requirement, enabling smooth daily operations, resolution of unexpected roadblocks, and effective support of team workflows.
- Demonstrated management level experience in operational services, property management, workplace operations or project management, or in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating operations across multiple sites or services
- Experience managing multiple staff, contractors, suppliers and external service providers.
- Relevant qualification in business, operations, facilities management, project management or a related discipline.
- Experience within community services, family violence, health, housing or another human services environment.
- Experience or training in workplace ergonomics, Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments or OHS compliance.
