Dantel Communications is an Australian-owned telecommunications contractor delivering turnkey fibre networks across carrier, data centre, and major infrastructure projects nationwide. We're ISO and CM3 accredited, with a reputation built on clean workmanship, strong systems, and first-time handovers.

Our Queensland workload is steady and growing, and we're looking for an experienced fibre splicer to join the team at our Slacks Creek depot. This is a carrier-focused role; the day-to-day is typical telco fibre work: prepping, splicing, fault finding, testing, wall boxes, customer racks and joints across active carrier networks. There's also data centre work in the mix as that side of the business grows, so if you want exposure to it, it's there.

It's a hands-on role for someone who can splice and test to spec on their own from day one, working primarily out of our Slacks Creek depot and across Southeast Queensland, with occasional travel for project-based work.

The Role n

You'll be responsible for splicing, testing, fault-finding, documentation and handovers across carrier network projects, working to carrier and client specifications where accuracy and clean workmanship aren't negotiable. You'll be trusted to run your own work, not have someone standing over you.

What You'll Be Doing n

Prepping, ring barking, terminating and splicing fibre into straight joints and various joint enclosures. FIST experience highly desirable (GC02, BE6/16, BF8, etc.)

Fault finding and repair across live carrier networks without dropping services

n

OTDR, IL and ORL testing to a range of carrier and client specifications

n

Preparing and terminating wall boxes, customer racks and customer FTPs

n

Ribbon splicing and high-count stranded splicing

n

Preparing high-count FTPs and carrier infrastructure

n

Cut-overs, live splicing and migrations in active environments

n

Building explicit, accurate workbooks, test results and handover documentation

External hauling experience advantageous

What You'll Need n

Demonstrated fibre splicing experience, able to splice, test and fault-find on your own from day one

ACMA Open Registration

n

Australian Manual Driver's Licence

n

White Card (OH&S;)

n

Strong attention to detail and genuine pride in zero-defect work

n

Comfortable working autonomously while being a reliable team player

n

Confident using laptops, workbooks and digital documentation systems

n

Willingness to travel occasionally for project-based work

n

Highly regarded but not essential: RISI, First Aid, Traffic Control.

This is an experienced role. Please only apply if you can splice and test to carrier spec on your own.
