Your New Role n

CV Services is seeking a commercially minded Commercial Accountant to support one of our largest operating divisions in Brisbane.

n

This is an opportunity for an ambitious finance professional who wants to move beyond traditional accounting and become a trusted advisor to operational and project leaders. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in analysing business performance, supporting project outcomes and delivering insights that influence strategic decision-making.

n

Working closely with operational leaders, project managers and senior management, you will provide commercial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting that helps drive profitability and business growth.

Key responsibilities include: n

- Leading budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting processes
n
- Monitoring business unit and project financial performance
n
- Providing commercial analysis and actionable recommendations
n
- Supporting project managers with profitability, forecasting and cost control
n
- Delivering management reporting, KPI dashboards and variance analysis
n
- Identifying risks, opportunities and margin improvement initiatives
n
- Partnering with operational teams to improve business performance
n
- Supporting month-end reporting, governance and financial controls
n
- Assisting with strategic planning and business decision-making
n

What You'll Need to Succeed n

To be successful in this role, you will bring a combination of strong technical accounting capability and commercial acumen, along with a genuine interest in partnering with the business.

You will have: n

n




- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
n
- CA or CPA qualification, or be actively working towards completion
n
- 3-5 years' experience in accounting, management accounting or commercial finance
n
- Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience
n
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capabilities
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- The ability to translate financial data into practical business insights
n
- A proactive and commercially focused mindset
n

Highly regarded experience includes: nn
- Construction, engineering, infrastructure, services or project-based industries
n
- Project accounting
n
- Power BI or business intelligence reporting tools
n
- ERP systems
n
