Job Description
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Avionics) n
BAE Systems Australia is looking for an Avionics Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join the Hawk Lead‑In Fighter program within our Aerospace organisation.
Key Responsibilities n
n
- Carry out maintenance, inspections, and fault diagnosis on avionics systems and components across both fixed‑wing and rotary‑wing aircraft.
n
- Ensure all work is performed using authorised technical data, compliant with regulatory and organisational standards.
n
- Accurately document maintenance activities, meeting certification and reporting requirements within required timeframes.
n
- Action engineering advice, defect reporting, maintenance deficiencies, and publication amendments as directed.
n
- Report and escalates any defects, non‑conformances, or quality issues to the Team Leader in line with procedures.
n
- Perform maintenance tasks within your delegated authority while upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
n
Qualifications nn
- Hold an Aircraft Maintenance Trade – Certificate IV Aeroskills – Avionics (Mandatory).
n
- Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Defence Clearance (Mandatory).
n
- Experience or a robust interest in working with Defence Military Aircraft.
n
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
n
- Ability to deliver work within a fast‑paced team environment.
n
Location & Additional Information n
Based at RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW. Relocation support is available for candidates living outside the Williamtown, Hunter, and Maitland region. This role requires Australian citizenship and the ability to obtain a Defence Clearance. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may apply.
