Dawsons Engineering is looking for a skilled Fixed Plant Fitter & Turner to join our maintenance team on a permanent FIFO basis out of Townsville. Skip the unstable shutdown cycles, this is a secure, long-term role with a solid team culture.

Your Role nn
- Perform planned and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant gear (crushers, conveyors, screens, pumps).
n
- Diagnose mechanical faults and execute timely repairs to keep downtime low.
n
- Handle precision fitting, alignments, and equipment installations.
n
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.




n
- Complete maintenance logs and collaborate with the wider team to improve plant reliability.
n

What You Bring nn
- Cert III in Engineering (Mechanical Fitter & Turner) or equivalent.
n
- 5+ years of fixed plant experience in mining, heavy industry, or quarries.
n
- Proven fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
n
- Valid driver's licence (HR is a plus).
n
- Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets (issued within the last 2 years, or willing to get them).
n
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.
