As our Mechanic (Heavy), you will be a key part of the Plant & Fleet Unit-the team that keeps Council's vehicles and equipment safe, reliable and ready for action. From servicing and fault-finding to repairs and compliance, your work will help our teams deliver for the Central Coast community every day.
n
No two days need to look the same. You will apply your mechanical know-how to be responsible for appropriate maintenance and repairs, conducting registration checks, guiding apprentices and helping the workshop run safely and efficiently.
n

To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- A Certificate III qualification in Heavy Commercial Mechanical technology or related field, combined with ongoing professional development
n
- A current NSW Fair Trading Tradesperson Certificate
n
- A valid Construction General Induction Card - NSW SafeWork or equivalent
n
- Recent experience in the repair of late model Fleet vehicles and equipment including multiple trade disciplines in hydraulics, auto electrics & pneumatics
n
- Knowledge of and recent experience in the use of vehicle asset management systems (IPS, TechOne or similar), email and other internet applications
n
- Knowledge of parts and material acquisitions and administration systems for their procurement
n
- Knowledge and understanding of industry standards, legislative requirements, principles and trends.
n
- The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of, or obtain, the vaccinations/immunisations required for this position as part of the pre-employment medical assessment
n
n
You will also be willing to obtain:
n
n
- HAVIS Vehicle Examiners Certificate - Heavy Vehicle
n
- A current Class MR Drivers Licence
n
n

Start on a salary of up to $79.2K, with the opportunity to progress to a maximum salary of $85.2K following assessment of your skills and performance. You will also receive 12% superannuation plus Level 1 Adverse Working Conditions per week.
