About Allied Health services n
Allied Health at Cabrini is a rapidly expanding and highly integrated service comprising twelve professional disciplines. The department plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across the organisation.
n
Cabrini Allied Health offers a wide range of opportunities, including senior consultant and leadership roles, clinical stream positions, junior staff rotation and support programs, professional development and teaching opportunities, and the cultivation of strong external and university partnerships.
What the role involves n
We are looking for dynamic and qualified Grade 2 Allied Health Assistants (AHA), with experience working within inpatient rehabilitation and/or acute orthopaedics, to be part of our physiotherapy teams at Malvern and Brighton.
This role involves working with physiotherapists to deliver group and individual therapy sessions within the inpatient rehabilitation setting, and/or assisting physiotherapists on the acute wards post orthopaedic surgery. Casual shifts are predominantly weekend based, with some ad hoc weekday availability.

Multiple roles are available - please specify in your cover letter your preference for working within rehab or acute, or both.

Key responsibilities include:
n
n
- Facilitate safe and appropriate completion of a prescribed exercise program, in a group and individual setting, as outlined by the treating physiotherapist.
n
- Ensure the safe and timely transport of patients to their therapy session in the gym.
n
- Escalate patient concerns to treating physiotherapist/rehab team leader.
n
- Ensure good communication, effective relationships and teamwork between peers and other clinical staff and services.
n
What we're looking for n
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be organised, flexible and work well within a team.
n
You will have:
n
n
- Relevant Allied Health Assistant qualifications.
n
- Experience in exercise delivery & managing groups of patients in a rehabilitation setting is advantageous.
n
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team within a structured rehabilitation or acute orthopaedic environment.
n
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with a strong client customer service focus.
n
- Well-developed time management skills.
n
