Senior Litigation Associate - IP, Media & Defamation n

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Litigation Associate to join a highly regarded specialist commercial law firm in Sydney.

Our client is a boutique Australian commercial law firm of approximately 35 staff, specialising in intellectual property, technology and media law . The firm offers sophisticated, high-quality work within a collaborative, professional and friendly environment.

This is an prospect to work closely with experienced Partners on complex and often high-profile disputes, while enjoying genuine autonomy, direct client contact and the opportunity to further develop your expertise across IP, media and commercial litigation.

The Role n

As a Senior Associate, you will take ownership of a range of complex litigation matters from initial advice through to resolution, settlement or hearing.

Your work will include: n

- Intellectual property litigation
n
- Defamation and reputational disputes
n
- Media litigation
n
- Broader commercial disputes
n
- Developing case strategy alongside Partners and clients
n
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, submissions and evidence
n
- Managing discovery, interlocutory applications and hearing preparation
n
- Briefing and working closely with Counsel and experts
n




- Attending court, mediations and settlement conferences
n
- Providing commercial and strategic advice directly to clients
n

n

You will have meaningful involvement in case strategy and client relationships rather than simply being responsible for execution.

About You n

You will ideally have 5–7 years PQE with experience in commercial litigation, intellectual property litigation, media litigation or a closely related disputes practice.

You will also bring: n

n
- Experience in one or more of defamation, media disputes or intellectual property litigation
n
- Strong litigation and dispute resolution skills
n
- Excellent drafting and written communication skills
n
- Confidence managing matters and communicating directly with sophisticated clients
n
- Strong commercial judgement and a practical approach to dispute resolution
n
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating closely with Partners
n
- A current Australian practising certificate
n
