We treasure the suburb’s historical heritage while creating a pub that’s warm, welcoming, and unpretentious. Alongside classic Australian pub dining, the venue will feature a boutique hotel for guests seeking comfort with a community feel. Operating Wednesday – Sunday, the Kurrajong Hotel will serve lunch and dinner, expanding into breakfast in coming weeks, making it a true hub for locals and visitors alike.

About the Role

n

The Kitchen Porter is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, supporting the kitchen staff during meal service, and ensuring that the kitchen is a safe and healthy working environment.

Responsibilities

n

n
- Clean and wash all kitchen supplies, including dishes, glasses, pots, pans, and cutlery.
n
- Ensure that food preparation areas and kitchen equipment are clean and hygienic.
n
- Operate industrial dishwashing machines and other cleaning equipment.
n
- Sweep, mop and sanitize kitchen floors and dining areas regularly.
n
- Dispose of waste appropriately, including food and packaging products.
n




- Support the kitchen staff in food preparation and cooking, including cutting vegetables and other basic tasks.
n
- Help with organizing and managing inventory of kitchen supplies.
n
- Adhere to food hygiene and health and safety regulations at all times.
n
- Work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, and weekends if required.
n
- Maintain a positive and qualified attitude towards the team members and customers.

Qualifications

n

n
- Prior experience in a similar position or working environment is preferred.
n
- Good understanding of food hygiene and safety regulations.
n
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
n
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and multi-task in a busy kitchen environment.
n
- Must be physically fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
n
- Availability to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
