Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Finance & Administration Officer to support the day-to-day financial, payroll and administrative functions of our Sydney-based AV integration business. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is organised, detail-focused, and comfortable working independently. The position will initially include a structured transition and handover period with the incumbent, who will provide knowledge of existing systems, processes, records, and recurring requirements.
Key responsibilities n
Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and financial records in MYOB, enter and process financial transactions, invoices, and payments, and maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records
n
Process weekly payroll and associated payroll administration including sick leave, annual leave, long service leave, child support and superannuation across employees and contractors
n
Prepare and manage BAS and PAYG requirements, ensure statutory payments and reports are completed accurately and on time, and coordinate key annual compliance obligations
n
Reconcile the company cheque account, credit card and cash reserve accounts, monitor banking transactions, and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly
n
Manage business and vehicle insurance administration and renewals, coordinate Workers Compensation, Professional Indemnity and Public Liability requirements, and maintain records of policies and key renewal dates
n
Manage ASIC renewals and company registrations and maintain corporate records to ensure recurring registrations are completed on time
n
Work confidently across MYOB, Simpro and Microsoft Office, maintain clear records and documented processes, and participate in a structured handover
About you n
Minimum 5 years previous experience in bookkeeping, finance administration, accounting or a similar role
n
Practical experience with MYOB, payroll, and financial reconciliations
n
Understanding of BAS, PAYG and general statutory requirements
n
Highly trustworthy, organised, accurate and detail oriented
n
Able to work independently while communicating effectively with management and staff
n
Strong Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with business systems
n
Committed to maintaining confidentiality
n
Reliable, methodical, and proactive
n
Able to manage deadlines and priorities
n
Professional and approachable
n
Experience with Simpro &/or an AV/construction-related business environment would be advantageous.

Flexible part-time role with a predominantly work-from-home arrangement and openness to school hours or other work/life balance priorities

A comprehensive handover will be provided by the incumbent. The transition will cover MYOB and bookkeeping, payroll and superannuation, banking and reconciliations, contractor payments, BAS/PAYG, insurance and registrations, fleet administration, company records, recurring deadlines, and established systems and processes.

The handover will be staged so the successful candidate can observe existing processes, undertake tasks with support, and progressively assume independent responsibility.
