Job Description

Oaks Cypress Lakes Resort and Elysia Wellness Retreat are looking for a skilled and motivated Demi Chef to join our kitchen team on a casual basis.

n

This role is essential in supporting the smooth operation of the kitchen, assisting with food preparation, cooking, and presentation, while helping deliver a high-quality dining experience for guests.

n

Key Responsibilities Include:

n

n
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in line with menu standards and guest expectations.
n
- Assist in the development and plating of high-quality meals.
n
- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards.
n
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure efficient service and smooth operations.
n
- Support and mentor junior kitchen staff where required.
n
- Contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen efficiency improvements.
n

Shift Details (subject to change):

n

n
- Part-time or full time positions may also be available, depending on business requirements
n
- Rotating roster across Monday to Sunday
n
- Shifts may include breakfast, lunch, and dinner services
n
- Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays
n

n

Hourly Rates (excluding superannuation):
n Monday - Friday: $39.19per hour
n Saturday: $46.95 per hour
n Sunday: $ 54.78 per hour

n

Qualifications

n

To be successful in this role you will have:

n

n
- Previous experience as a Demi Chef or in a similar kitchen role.
n
- Relevant Australian cookery qualifications, ideally Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
n
- Knowledge of cooking techniques,



food preparation, and presentation standards.
n
- Understanding of HACCP, OH&S;, and kitchen hygiene requirements.
n
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
n
- Positive, proactive attitude and genuine passion for cooking.
n
- Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
n
