Opportunity for locum work in Mackay, Queensland, as a Consultant Cardiologist at a well-established private cardiology clinic with over a decade of service. This role is ideal for the professional who wants to escape the hustle of the city for the relaxing, tropical Mackay region, earn a regular income, and have the option to build a patient base for interventional cardiac procedures at their own designated location. The clinic has an extensive network of referring doctors in the region and a loyal patient base with extended patient waiting periods.
The clinic offers on-site specialist cardiac consultations and non-interventional investigations, including:
- echocardiography
- ECGs
- 24-hour ABP
The candidate will work alongside a cardiac sonographer, cardiac nurses, and administrative staff. The role does not entail on-call shifts or interventional cardiology procedures unless the candidate is keen to perform them at their own designated location. You'll see patients in consultation clinics,
assist with exercise stress echocardiograms, and interpret diagnostic tests, including echocardiograms, Holter monitors and ambulatory blood pressure (ABP) recordings.
Receive 50 to 55% of the gross billings generated each day (estimated daily earnings $2500 to $3500).
Work for 1 to 2 weeks every 2 months on an ongoing basis.
Applicants must:
- be registered as a Medical Practitioner with AHPRA
- have the right to work in Australia
- have a Medicare Provider Number for the provision of specialist services in Australia
