NSW State Manager | $160,000 + Super + Bonuses + 9 Day Fortnight

If you’re already performing at a senior level in workplace rehabilitation but feel restricted by layers of management, limited decision-making authority or a role that has become more about maintaining than building, this could be a very different chance.

Our client is an established and highly respected workplace rehabilitation provider with a strong national reputation, long-standing customer relationships and an experienced leadership team.

They are now investing heavily into NSW and are looking for the right person to take ownership of that growth.
This is not a turnaround role, and you won’t be expected to build a business from nothing.

You’ll step into an organisation with established customers, existing industry relationships, strong systems and a trusted reputation behind you, while still having the freedom to shape how NSW grows.
For the right person, this is an opportunity to create something that genuinely feels like your own.

About the role:

- Own the NSW strategy – Take responsibility for how the business develops across NSW, with genuine influence over growth, people and market direction.
- Build your own team – Recruit and develop high-quality consultants around the culture, standards and leadership style you want to create.
- Grow existing relationships – Work with an established customer base while identifying opportunities to deepen and expand key partnerships.
- Develop new business – Use your industry knowledge and network to create sustainable growth across insurers, employers, brokers and other key stakeholders.
- Lead without bureaucracy – Make meaningful decisions without navigating unnecessary layers of management or approval.
- Develop your people – Create an environment where strong consultants want to stay, perform and progress.
- Influence the wider business – Work directly with senior leadership and have a genuine voice in future East Coast strategy and broader organisational growth.
- Protect quality as you grow – Ensure commercial success is built alongside strong customer outcomes, clinical standards and a positive employee experience.

What's on offer?

- GM-level remuneration – This package has been designed to attract a genuine senior industry leader and sits well above what is typically offered for a State Manager position.
- 9-day fortnight – Enjoy a long weekend every second week while remaining on full-time pay.
- Real autonomy – You’ll have the authority to make decisions and influence the business rather than simply execute someone else’s strategy.
- Strong foundation – Walk into established customer relationships, national partnerships and an existing reputation in the market.
- Freedom to build – Recruit your own team and play a major role in shaping the culture and future of the NSW operation.

- Hybrid flexibility – Work in a way that allows you to stay connected to your people and customers without unnecessary office-based expectations.
- Less corporate hierarchy – Join an organisation where senior leaders remain accessible and decisions can actually be made.
- Significant growth opportunity – NSW is an important part of the organisation’s next stage of expansion, giving this position considerable visibility and influence.
- Opportunity beyond NSW – As the business continues to grow, there is genuine potential for the scope of this role to expand significantly.
- Strong employment conditions – Join a provider that has deliberately built its employment model around attracting and retaining experienced people.
- Sustainable growth mindset – This isn’t a business looking to grow at any cost. Quality, culture and employee retention genuinely matter.

About you:

- You have extensive experience within workplace rehabilitation, injury management or a compensable scheme environment.
- You understand the NSW workers compensation market and the relationships that drive it.
- You have demonstrated success leading consultants, managers or multidisciplinary teams.
- You are commercially minded and comfortable developing relationships, identifying opportunities and contributing to business growth.
- You have the confidence to operate with genuine autonomy and make decisions at a senior level.
- You understand how to build a successful team without losing good people in the process.
- Existing relationships across insurers, employers, claims providers, brokers or other industry stakeholders will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience building a team, region, customer portfolio or service line would be particularly valuable.
- An allied health background in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, Psychology or another relevant discipline will be highly regarded.

You may already be a State Manager, General Manager, Operations Manager or senior workplace rehabilitation leader.

Alternatively, you may be sitting one level below this and know you are ready for considerably more ownership than your current organisation can offer.
Ultimately, this opportunity will suit someone who wants to be judged on what they build, not how well they operate inside someone else’s structure.

If you want the backing of an established provider but the autonomy and influence that normally comes with building your own business, this is an opportunity worth exploring.

Additional information

- Executive-level package: Remuneration comparable to a national GM-level position
- Build NSW your way: Genuine autonomy to grow the team, relationships and market
- 9-day fortnight: Full-time pay with a long weekend every second week
