Job Description
Site Supervisor – Fabrication & Mechanical Services n
Due to continued growth, Programmed is seeking experienced Site Supervisors to join our team and oversee the day-to-day activities of our Fabrication and Mechanical Services operations across client sites.
n
Reporting to the Site Manager, this is a hands-on leadership position responsible for the effective coordination, supervision and allocation of work across our skilled trades teams and apprentices.
n
You will play a key role in ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality, while maintaining solid relationships with our clients and supporting the successful delivery of projects.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Supervise and coordinate fabrication and mechanical teams across client sites, ensuring efficient workflow and delivery against project schedules.
n
- Allocate daily work and provide clear direction to trades personnel and apprentices.
n
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company, client and legislative WHS requirements .
n
- Monitor work quality and conduct inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, safety requirements and quality standards.
n
- Provide leadership, mentoring and support to tradespeople, apprentices and developing team members.
n
- Liaise closely with the Customer and Site Manager to understand project requirements, priorities, resources and client expectations.
n
- Monitor project progress and maintain accurate records relating to labour, materials, productivity and safety.
n
- Assist with project planning, quoting and the preparation of estimates as required.
n
- Promote a solid safety culture and lead by example in all aspects of site operations.
n
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
n

About You
n
We are looking for an experienced trade professional with strong leadership capabilities and a proven ability to coordinate teams in a busy site environment.
n
To be successful in this role, you will have:
n
n
- A current Australian-recognised trade qualification or equivalent certification.
n
- 5+ years' hands‑on experience in fabrication and/or mechanical trades.
n
- Demonstrated experience supervising, leading or mentoring trades personnel.
n
- Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation, safety standards and industry requirements.
n
- The ability to read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and plans.
n
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, trades teams and management.
n
- Sound problem‑solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
n
- A strong commitment to safety, quality and delivering high standards of workmanship.
n
- The ability to work effectively across multiple client sites and travel as required.
n
- Desirable: Post-trade qualifications and/or additional relevant industry qualifications.
n
