Wildflower Society is opening in Westfield Hurstville this October, and we’re looking for an experienced Head Barista to join our opening team.
We’re looking for someone who takes coffee seriously, enjoys a busy service and knows how to lead a coffee section properly.
You’ll be joining us before opening, training with our existing teams and then taking ownership of the coffee bar at Hurstville from day one.
About the role
As our Head Barista, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the coffee section, including:
- Leading the bar during busy services
- Producing consistently outstanding coffee
- Dialling in and maintaining espresso quality throughout the day
- Setting standards around milk, presentation, speed and consistency
- Training and developing the barista team
- Keeping the coffee section clean, organised and ready for service
- Managing coffee, milk and related stock
- Working closely with the Venue Manager and FOH team
- Building relationships with our regular customers
- Helping create a strong culture within the new team
Who we’re looking for
You don’t need to be the loudest person behind the bar, but you do need to care about what you do .
We’re looking for someone with:
- Strong specialty coffee experience
- Experience working in a busy, high-volume café
- Confidence dialling in and adjusting grinders
- Excellent milk texturing and coffee presentation
- Good speed without sacrificing quality
- Experience training or leading other baristas
- Strong communication and customer service
- Reliability and a genuine sense of ownership
Previous Head Barista or Senior Barista experience is preferred.

You’ll have the opportunity to help establish the coffee standards, train your team and build your regular customer base from the beginning.
