Looking for a permanent Maintenance Fitter role with excellent earning potential, a structured roster and plenty of days off?

Our client is a well-established food manufacturing business in Broadmeadows seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Maintenance Fitter with a minimum of 5 years' hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment.

n

This is a hands-on maintenance position working across production machinery, with a strong focus on breakdowns, fault finding, preventative maintenance and equipment reliability .

The role n

You’ll be responsible for keeping production machinery operating safely and reliably, including:

n

- n

Preventative and breakdown maintenance

n
- n

Mechanical fault finding and repairs

n
- n

Diagnosing production machinery faults

n
- n

Maintaining conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pumps, motors, chains and belts

n
- n

Pneumatic systems and mechanical components

n
- n

Planned maintenance and equipment inspections

n
- n

Machinery strip-downs and component replacement

n
- n

Welding and fabrication work

n
- n

Equipment repairs, installations, modifications and upgrades

n
- n

Identifying recurring faults and assisting with reliability improvements

n
- n

Working closely with Production to minimise downtime

n
- n





Completing maintenance records and documentation

n

What we’re looking for nn
- n

Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (Fitting), or equivalent recognised trade qualification

n
- n

Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Maintenance Fitter

n
- n

Strong experience in a manufacturing, production or industrial environment

n
- n

Demonstrated breakdown maintenance and mechanical fault‑finding experience

n
- n

Strong preventative and planned maintenance experience

n
- n

Hands‑on experience maintaining production machinery

n
- n

Welding and fabrication experience

n
- n

Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults with minimal supervision

n
- n

Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills

n
- n

Ability to work a rotating 12-hour day/night roster

n
- n

Solid commitment to workplace safety

n

n

Food manufacturing experience is highly regarded but not essential.

n

We’re particularly interested in candidates from food and beverage, FMCG, packaging, pharmaceutical, plastics, recycling or other high-volume manufacturing environments.

We’re looking for someone who is genuinely hands‑on and comfortable responding to breakdowns in a busy production environment.

n

You’ll be someone who can identify the problem, work through the fault logically and get equipment running again safely - while also understanding the importance of preventative maintenance and long‑term equipment reliability.
