About the role

ARE Services WA is seeking an experienced RF communications skilled who can combine advanced fault-finding, system integration, customer consultation and technical sales across surface and underground mining. This role involves designing, integrating, commissioning and fault-finding complete VHF/UHF radio communications systems, working directly with mining customers to understand operational requirements and develop practical solutions.

Key responsibilities

- Design, integrate, commission and fault-find complete VHF/UHF radio communications systems

- Motorola MOTOTRBO and Capacity Plus configuration, maintenance and optimisation

- Kenwood commercial/NXDN systems, including KAS-20 applications and fleet functionality

- RF coverage testing, interference investigation, repeaters, antennas, feeders, duplexers and combiners

- TRBOnet monitoring/support, codeplug, firmware, licensing and configuration control

- Vehicle/mobile radio installations, preventative maintenance and emergency breakdown response

- Work directly with mining customers to understand operational requirements and develop practical solutions

- Carry projects from initial enquiry through site assessment, system concept, equipment selection, BOM, quotation, delivery and commissioning

- Support system sales with technically accurate product and system advice





- Produce clear scopes, technical reports, drawings, asset information and recommendations

About you

- Commercial two-way radio experience with Motorola, Kenwood or similar professional platforms

- Confident use of RF test equipment

- Strong practical fault-finding

- Ability to work independently on mine sites

- Solid documentation habits

- Confidence dealing with operators, supervisors, IT/OT teams and management

- Strong RF fundamentals and methodical fault-finding mindset

- Ability to understand how multiple technologies operate together as one system

We'll teach you our systems

You don't need to arrive knowing every ARE technology. We will provide specialist in-house training on ARE underground Leaky Feeder communications systems and COMET SCADA/telemetry equipment. We want strong RF fundamentals, a methodical fault-finding mindset and the ability to understand how multiple technologies operate together as one system.
