An outstanding opportunity is available for an experienced Geriatrician to join Bundaberg Hospital and provide senior clinical leadership across contemporary models of care for older people.
The Staff Specialist Geriatrician will play a pivotal role in delivering specialist geriatric medicine services to frail older persons across acute, subacute, ambulatory, community and virtual care settings.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Geriatrician seeking a senior clinical role within a progressive regional health service, combined with the potential to establish a private practice in the local area.
The Opportunity The successful candidate will provide senior clinical leadership and specialist expertise across the geriatric medicine service.
The role encompasses care across:

- Acute hospital services
- Subacute care
- Ambulatory care
- Community services
- Virtual models of care
- Contemporary models of care for frail older people

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support high-quality, patient-centred care and improved outcomes for older people throughout the Wide Bay region.
Private Practice Opportunity The successful candidate may also have the opportunity to establish a private practice outside their Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service appointment, working with local private hospitals.
Support may include:

- Access to local private hospital sessional rooms to assist with establishing a practice
- Assistance with credentialling
- Administrative support when commencing private practice
- Introduction to local GPs, physicians and surgeons
- Assistance in developing local referral pathways





This provides an attractive opportunity to combine a secure public hospital appointment with the potential to develop a private practice and local referral network.
Remuneration & Benefits A highly competitive remuneration package of up to $564,548 per annum is available.
The package comprises:

- Base salary: $223,136 – $282,912 p.a.
- Employer superannuation contribution of up to 12.75%
- 17.5% annual leave loading
- General Attraction and Retention Allowance

- Motor Vehicle Allowance
- Professional Development Allowance
- Professional Development Leave

Permanent Full-Time | 80 hours per fortnight
