We are working with a WA resources company to help them find a legal counsel to join their in-house team on a permanent basis.
About the Role
Working closely with the General Counsel, you will be involved across all business functions and work on a broad range of matters including procurement, health and safety, construction, projects, native title and general operations.
This is a hands-on in-house role suited to a mid-level lawyer with strong drafting experience, who is looking to build their generalist in-house experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a range of front-end, general commercial and construction contracts
- Advise on variation claims
- Work on a range of WA projects
- Providing commercially focused legal advice to operational stakeholders
- Assist with operational improvement work for the legal function
About You
- 5-8 + PQE
- Strong drafting and front-end skill set, ideally coming from a front-end practice group at a reputable firm
- Previous in-house experience within resources would be very desirable but not required
- Interested in moving in-house and keen to support a large business with multiple internal stakeholders
- Looking for a permanent role, where you will work closely with the General Counsel
