- Administer safety and compliance programs for project employees, contractors and visitors.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations, audits and risk assessments.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and monitor work areas.
- Build and maintain relationships with workplace stakeholders through effective stakeholder management strategies, ongoing engagement, collaboration and consultation.
- Recommend, prepare and maintain reports and documentation concerning the aspects of project safety programs, including trend analysis and recommended improvement actions.
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes.
- Lead HSE day-to-day initiatives, audits and safety-walks on site.
- Stay updated on legislation and compliance standards
- Monitor pre-starts, hazard cards, observations, event notification forms, updating and reviewing of WHS documents including training records, first aid records, risk registers, corrective actions.
- Ensure the OH&S; systems are adhered to.
· Monitor compliance with environmental approvals, EPL conditions and site environmental controls, including erosion and sediment control, spill response and waste management.
· Conduct quality inspections against project Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) and specifications, and support the raising and close-out of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
· Support internal and external audits against the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Assist in return-to-work programs.
- Provide WHS advice and ensure system compliance against WHS Plan.
- Ensure all employees have accurate WHS documentation at all times.
- Partner with and advise the Site Engineers, Project Engineers and Project Managers on HSEQ matters.
- Prepare and present reports for internal and external purposes.
