Summary

As a Senior Asset Engineer, based in Melbourne, you'll play a key role in the lifecycle management, optimisation and long-term sustainment of critical technology assets that support Air Traffic Management Services, Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services and Enterprise Technology systems across Australia. You'll balance technical performance, risk and cost considerations to ensure these systems continue delivering safe and reliable outcomes for the aviation industry

Airservices Australia (Airservices) is a government-owned organisation providing safe, secure, efficient and environmentally responsible services to the aviation industry.

Each year we manage over four million aircraft movements carrying more than 156 million passengers and provide air navigation services across 11 per cent of the world’s airspace.

Airservices has two major operating centres in Melbourne and Brisbane and a corporate office in Canberra. We operate 31 air traffic towers at international and regional airports, and provide aviation rescue firefighting services at 28 Australian airports.

The Role & The Team

Reporting to the Airspace Technology Services Team Leader, you will be responsible for optimising the technical and financial performance of technology assets throughout their lifecycle.

Working within the Airspace Platform, you'll develop and maintain Asset Class Management Plans, monitor asset performance, analyse lifecycle costs, assess investment and replacement options, and ensure critical technology assets continue to meet operational requirements. These assets include Air Traffic Management systems, Aeronautical Information Systems,



Enterprise IT platforms and telecommunications networks that underpin Airservices' national operations.

You will collaborate closely with Asset Owners, Enterprise Architects, Service Operations teams, suppliers and technical specialists to develop long-term asset strategies, manage risks, improve service outcomes and support technology investment decisions.

This role offers the opportunity to influence nationally significant technology systems while applying advanced engineering, asset management and commercial decision-making expertise in a highly regulated and safety-critical environment

The Person

If you're looking for a role where you can combine engineering expertise, commercial acumen and strategic thinking to optimise nationally critical technology assets, we'd love to hear from you.

The successful applicant will have:

- A relevant Engineering degree and eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in a relevant discipline or the ability to obtain registration in accordance with relevant legislation (such as RPEQ/RPEV).
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering, requirements management, risk management and lifecycle planning.
- Strong capability in lifecycle cost analysis, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modelling and value-based decision making.
- Experience developing asset management plans and strategies for complex technology environments.
- Strong financial and commercial skills relating to technology asset management.
- Experience analysing asset performance and applying data-driven decision making.
- Experience working with suppliers and managing commercial or contractual relationships.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in technically complex and regulated environments.

The following experience would be highly regarded:





- Air Traffic Management or aviation technology environments.
- Telecommunications, Enterprise IT or Operational Technology systems.
- Asset lifecycle management within critical infrastructure organisations.
- Technology governance and enterprise asset management frameworks.
- Maintenance optimisation and reliability engineering practices.
- Large-scale technology transformation or sustainment programs.
- Cyber security and technology risk management environments.

Security Clearance

To be eligible, you must be an Australian citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Baseline Security Clearance and Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
