Electrical Design Engineer | Mining & Industrial Projects
An excellent opportunity for a mid-level Electrical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy delivering electrical, control and instrumentation solutions across mining, minerals processing and industrial projects.

Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you will be responsible for developing detailed electrical designs from concept through to commissioning support. The role offers exposure to a broad range of projects, strong mentorship from senior engineers, and the opportunity to build technical capabilities across power systems, motor control, instrumentation and process plant environments.

This is a Perth-based position suited to an Electrical Engineer looking to further develop their technical design skills while working closely with clients, contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Role Opportunity
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience delivering detailed design work within mining, resources, industrial, or heavy industry environments.

Reporting to a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to the design, development and delivery of electrical, control and instrumentation systems across a range of projects. You will be involved throughout the project lifecycle, supporting engineering studies, detailed design, vendor management, commissioning activities and ongoing technical improvements.

Essential Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
• Australian recognised Electrical Engineering qualification
• Experience delivering electrical design projects within industry
• Knowledge of MV and LV power distribution systems
• Understanding of motor control systems and plant electrical infrastructure
• Experience preparing technical documentation and specifications
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to work within multidisciplinary project teams
• Strong attention to detail and documentation quality
• Time management and project coordination capability
• Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement
• Full Australian working rights

Desirable Experience
• Mining, mineral processing or industrial project experience
• Exposure to electrical, controls and instrumentation design
• Short circuit and protection coordination studies
• Site commissioning and troubleshooting activities
• Knowledge of AS/NZS electrical standards
• Experience reviewing vendor and manufacturer documentation
• Exposure to switchboards, MCCs and power distribution equipment
• Progress towards Chartered Engineer status
• Experience mentoring junior or graduate engineers
• Familiarity with process plant environments

Duties & Responsibilities




• Deliver detailed electrical engineering designs and documentation
• Assist with power distribution, control and instrumentation design
• Perform engineering calculations and design analysis
• Support short circuit and protection coordination studies
• Prepare reports, specifications and technical deliverables
• Review vendor documentation and manufacturer data
• Collaborate with mechanical, civil and process engineering teams
• Support project delivery from concept through commissioning
• Assist with site inspections, testing and troubleshooting activities
• Participate in risk assessments and safety reviews
• Liaise with clients, contractors and equipment suppliers
• Contribute to proposals and technical submissions
• Support continuous improvement and innovation initiatives
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate engineers
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
