Our client is a well-established business within the steel industry, known for its quality products, reliable service and long-standing customer relationships. They are looking for an experienced Internal Sales Representative to join their Canning Vale team in a busy, customer-focused role.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with existing steel industry experience who enjoys building strong customer relationships, preparing quotations, processing orders, and providing technical product advice in a fast-paced commercial environment.
Working as part of a collaborative and customer-focused team, you will play a key role in supporting customers across a broad range of steel products and processing services.
About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
• Managing customer enquiries via phone and email
• Preparing quotations and following up opportunities
• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Providing product advice and technical support
• Reading and interpreting customer drawings and specifications
• Working closely with the Purchasing team to ensure stock availability
• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships
• Identifying opportunities to maximise sales and customer satisfaction
• Working closely with customers to understand their steel product and processing requirements
Essential Requirements
• Solid knowledge of flat steel plate products, grades, and associated processing services
• Understanding of steel grades, specifications, and industry terminology
• Previous experience in an Internal Sales role within a steel distribution, steel processing, or metals distribution business
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and customer specifications
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced commercial environment
This role is specifically suited to candidates with previous experience within a steel distribution, steel processing, or metals distribution business. Due to the technical nature of the position, applicants must have a strong understanding of steel products, steel grades, plate processing services, and industry terminology.
