The Position

Certificate III or Diploma Qualified Early Childhood Educator
37.5 hours per week

We are looking for someone who brings energy, enthusiasm and a genuine love of working with children. You will work alongside our experienced team to provide high-quality learning experiences, build meaningful relationships and support the wellbeing and development of every child.

What You’ll Be Doing

Educational Practice & Support

- Support the planning and implementation of high-quality, play-based learning experiences aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

- Observe and respond to children’s interests, strengths, abilities and developmental needs.

- Contribute to children's learning documentation, observations and reflections.

- Use observations to support intentional teaching and responsive interactions.

- Assist with daily routines and transitions in a way that promotes children’s security, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

- Support inclusive practices that recognise and respect the diverse needs, abilities, cultures and backgrounds of all children.

- Contribute positively to the team and share ideas that enhance children's learning and experiences.

Relationships with Children & Families

- Build warm, respectful and trusting relationships with children and their families.

- Create an environment where children feel safe, valued, heard and respected.

- Communicate openly and professionally with families about children's learning, wellbeing and development.

- Work collaboratively with families as partners in their child's early learning journey.

- Model positive,



respectful and qualified interactions at all times.

Child Safety & Child Protection

At Ekidna Tamworth School of Early Learning, child safety is our highest priority.

- Uphold the service's Child Safe Commitment at all times.

- Actively promote an environment where children feel safe, heard and respected.

- Understand and comply with mandatory reporting obligations under NSW legislation.

- Identify and respond appropriately to concerns relating to child wellbeing, abuse or neglect.

- Follow all child protection policies, procedures and reporting processes.

- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with children, families, colleagues and other members of the community.

- Model respectful, professional and child-safe behaviour at all times.

- Support colleagues in understanding and implementing child-safe practices.

- Ensure daily practices, environments and supervision strategies minimise risks to children and promote their safety and wellbeing.

- Take responsibility for speaking up and reporting any concerns relating to children's safety or wellbeing.

Health, Safety & Compliance

- Provide active and effective supervision of children at all times.

- Maintain a secure, hygienic, welcoming and well-organised learning environment.

- Follow all service policies and procedures relating to health, safety, supervision and child protection.

- Comply with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.

- Maintain accurate documentation, including incident, injury and illness records as required.

- Contribute to the service's ongoing compliance with the National Quality Standard (NQS), particularly Quality Area 2 – Children's Health and Safety and Quality Area 4 – Staffing Arrangements.

- Take an active role in identifying and managing potential risks within the learning setting.

About You





We are looking for an educator who is:

- Certificate III, working towards a Diploma, or Diploma qualified in Early Childhood Education and Care.

- Passionate about children's learning, wellbeing and development.

- Warm, approachable and able to build genuine relationships with children.

- A positive and supportive team member.

- Knowledgeable about the EYLF, NQS and child development.

- Confident in communicating with children, families and colleagues.

- Committed to child safety, child protection and child-safe standards.

- Holds current Child Protection Training and understands mandatory reporting requirements.

- Reliable, motivated and enthusiastic about their work.

- Committed to ongoing professional learning and development.

- Someone who brings a positive attitude and wants to contribute to our wonderful team!
