As a vital member of our pre-construction team, you will be the backbone of project cost accuracy and purchasing organisation across our Sapphire Coast build projects. You will provide accurate, comprehensive cost estimations and quantity take-offs for custom and residential building projects. This hands-on role involves taking ownership of the estimating process, creating and distributing purchase orders, and managing our local price books to ensure all projects are completed on budget and on time for our clients.

What You'll Be Doing

As a vital member of our pre-construction team, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates that ensure our projects are successful from the ground up.

- Plan Interpretation: Accurately reading and interpreting building plans to create detailed material and labour estimates.





- Software Management: Developing and maintaining templates for standard G.J. Gardner designs and managing the local Price Book.

- Cost Control: Identifying potential job delays or cost variations and working to mitigate them early in the process.

- Scheduling: Using our Construction Scheduling System to create accurate project plans and timelines.

- Stakeholder Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with our local suppliers, subcontractors, and internal sales and admin teams.

What You’ll Bring

We are looking for a local team player with a passion for the construction industry and a "measure twice, cut once" mindset.

- Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience as an Estimator within the residential or commercial construction industry.

- Local Knowledge: You must be based in the Sapphire Coast region with a solid understanding of our local building landscape.

- Multitasking Pro: The ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously without compromising on quality.

- Eagle Eye for Detail: A high level of accuracy, ensuring every nail, bolt, and hour is accounted for.

- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with computers and spreadsheets (Excel/Google Sheets) and a hunger to master new industry software.

- Trade Background (Optional): We welcome applicants with a strong background in residential construction (e.g., carpentry) and a genuine desire to move into an office-based role.
