About the role
We are seeking a skilled Boilermaker and Welder to join our team at Page Steel Fabrications Pty Ltd in Derrimut, Victoria. This is a casual position offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on diverse and challenging projects. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating, assembling and welding steel components according to specifications and engineering drawings. Your expertise will be crucial in delivering high-quality products that meet strict industry standards and client requirements. You will work as part of a team-oriented team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform manual and semi-automated welding using various techniques MIGwelding
- Fabricate and assemble boilermaker components and structures according to detailed drawings and specifications
- Interpret and work from shop drawings,
- Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure work meets industry standards and client specifications
- Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools in accordance with manufacturer guidelines
- Prepare materials including cutting, grinding, marking out and fitting components
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and maintain a safe working environment
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule
- Report on work completed and any issues or concerns that arise during fabrication
What we're looking for
- A recognised qualification in boilermaking, welding or a related trade
- Demonstrated experience as a boilermaker and welder, ideally in structural steel fabrication
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including MIG welding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering specifications accurately
- Knowledge of Australian welding standards and industry best practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Solid understanding of workplace health and safety requirements and protocols
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical capability to perform the demands of the role, including standing for extended periods
- A valid Driver's Licence is preferred
