Palmyra

A busy showroom, premium product, and clients who come back because of how you look after them

Entry Point sells architectural door and cabinet hardware in Palmyra. Handles, entrance sets, hinges, seals, smart locks and commercial hardware. We turn over around 500 orders a month. The phone rings, the door opens, and there is always a client waiting on an answer.

Our clients are interior designers, architects, builders, developers and homeowners building something they care about. They are specifying whole homes, not buying one handle. Many come back eight to fifteen times a year, and they come back because somebody here knew their job, knew their deadline and picked up the phone.

Our owner currently runs the floor with sales support staff. He is stepping into the newly created projects division. We want one person to take the showroom and run it.

A small team, going somewhere

There are 5 of us. Everyone knows what everyone else is working on and nothing takes three weeks to decide. We are building Entry Point into the hardware supplier that architects and builders in WA go to first. The showroom is a big part of how that happens.

You will see the whole business from where you sit, and what you say about how we should do things actually lands.

What the job actually looks like

You open up, walk the floor and get the space right before the first client arrives. You take the calls and the walk ins, work out what the project actually needs, and quote it properly with lead times so nobody gets caught out on site. You work your quotes in HubSpot, because a quote sitting untouched is money walking out the door and a client left waiting. You talk to suppliers about new ranges and get them onto the website and onto the shelf. Twice a week the whole team stops and does nothing but follow up, and you are in it.

It is busy. There is a lot going on and you will be the one holding it together.

How we win here

Not by pressure. Somebody rings about a job, you take the time to understand it, you tell them the truth about lead times, you remember what they bought last time, and you follow up when you said you would. Do that consistently and they stop shopping around.

That is the whole game, and the people who are best at it are the ones who genuinely like people.

There is no commission, and that is deliberate. We pay well so you are never choosing between the right answer for the client and your number this month. What we do instead is measure what you grow, and we talk about it openly.

You account manage, not just serve

A share of our best clients become yours. Named accounts, your book, your responsibility. That means knowing what they have coming up before they tell you, calling them when you have not heard from them in a while, and being the person they think of first rather than whoever answered the phone fastest.

These are clients who place eight to fifteen jobs a year when they are looked after properly. Taking an account from four jobs a year to twelve is the job, and we track it. You will know exactly where your book stands and so will we. Do it well and the difference between a good year and a great one for this business is largely down to you.

What you will own:

Converting walk in and phone clients into orders, and into clients who come back

A named book of designers, architects and builders, and growing what they spend with us

How the showroom runs day to day, working alongside our showroom salesperson

Quoting and following up in HubSpot so nothing goes cold and nobody is left waiting

The standard of the showroom. It looks the way a premium brand should, every day

Main contact for a number of our suppliers

Getting new product onto the website, working with the team

Telling us how to make the place better, and then doing it

You run the showroom:

This is the senior role on the floor. You report to the owner directly. There is no floor manager above you and no head office to wait on.

You decide how the floor is set up, how clients are handled, what gets prioritised and what needs to change. If a client needs something sorted on the spot, you sort it. You have support around you, our commercial lead for anything technical, our finance partner for purchasing, and a stockroom that keeps product moving, so you are free to look after clients and run the space.

The things we hold onto are pricing sign off below our floor and supplier purchasing. Everything else on that floor is your call.

What you bring:

Customer service experience where people asked for you by name

Comfortable selling face to face and on the phone, and happy to ask for the order

You want to be the best in the room at this, and you want it noticed

Genuinely good with people, patient with detail, and organised enough that nothing gets dropped

The judgement to work independently and the discipline to follow a process

Pride in your space. You notice the mess before anyone tells you

Building products or hardware experience is a plus, not a must. We will teach you the product

This is probably not for you if:

You want a quiet store with time between customers

Following up feels like nagging to you

You would rather just sell than run how the whole showroom works

Why this one is worth taking:

A real book of your own, with the room and the backing to grow it

A solid salary with no commission, so you are never choosing between the client and your number

Premium product and premium clients. No bargain hunting, no big box noise

No weekend work, no late nights. 8am to 4pm, Monday to Friday

A colleague on the floor with you, so you are running a channel, not carrying it alone

Established process, systems and CRM already in place, so you can sell from week one

Full product training. Our suppliers run sessions and we will get you in front of them
