About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Full-Time Chef to join our team at Shortland Waters Golf Club. This is a full-time position that offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills in a dynamic hospitality environment. As our Full-Time Chef, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of food preparation and presentation that our members and guests expect. You will be responsible for creating delicious, consistent dishes whilst managing kitchen operations efficiently and leading by example within our Bistro team.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present dishes to a high standard, adhering to our menu specifications and culinary guidelines

- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards in accordance with all relevant legislation and club policies

- Manage food inventory, monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies as required

- Work efficiently during service periods, coordinating with other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals

- Contribute to menu development and suggest innovative dishes that align with seasonal availability and member preferences

- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on techniques, food safety and professional standards

- Maintain kitchen equipment in good working order and report any maintenance issues promptly

- Assist with special events and functions, adapting menus and service as required





- Support the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager in achieving operational and financial targets

What we're looking for

- Recognised culinary qualification or equivalent practical experience in a qualified kitchen setting

- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a hospitality or catering environment, preferably in a club or restaurant setting

- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations and best practice standards

- Excellent technical cooking skills with the ability to prepare a diverse range of dishes to consistent high standards

- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality and attention to detail

- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to motivate and support junior staff

- Flexibility and willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays as required

- Organisational and time management abilities with the capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of current culinary trends and innovative cooking techniques is desirable
