Chef – Full-Time

We are recruiting on behalf of an established hospitality venue in Jugiong, NSW for an experienced Chef to join its kitchen team.

This is a full time, ongoing position within a quality regional dining workplace. The successful applicant will be responsible for food preparation and cooking, menu planning, maintaining food quality and presentation standards, and supporting the efficient day-to-day operation of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard.
Assist with menu planning and seasonal menu development.
Monitor the quality and presentation of dishes throughout preparation and service.
Estimate food requirements and assist with food and labour cost control.
Order and manage food supplies and stock.
Maintain appropriate stock rotation and minimise food waste.
Coordinate food preparation with kitchen and front-of-house staff.
Provide guidance to other kitchen staff where required.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.

Skills and Experience

Applicants must have:
A minimum of three years' relevant experience as a Chef in a restaurant, hotel, dining or catering setting.




Strong food preparation and cooking skills.
Experience with menu planning and quality control.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
The ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience managing food costs, stock and wastage.

Qualifications

Applicants should hold:
An AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts or a related field; or
At least three years of relevant skilled experience where applicable in place of formal qualifications.

English Language

A solid level of spoken and written English is required to communicate effectively with management, staff, suppliers and customers.
