This is a permanent full time position with an immediate start. You will be involved in the fabrication and assembly of water and wastewater treatment equipment, working primarily with stainless steel tanks and carbon steel structure.
Key responsibilities
Reading and interpreting fabrication and engineering drawings
Stainless steel and carbon steel sheet metal fabrication
Cutting, folding, fitting and assembly of fabricated components
Basic MIG/TIG tack welding
Operating guillotines and brake presses
Using electrical hand tools and workshop equipment
Ensuring a high standard of workmanship and finish
Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised workshop
Assisting with equipment assembly and other fabrication activities as required
Occasional site work and interstate travel may be required
About you
Previous experience in sheet metal fabrication
Ability to read and understand fabrication/engineering drawings
Practical experience working with stainless steel and carbon steel
Basic welding skills, including tack welding
Ability to use common electrical hand tools
Valuable attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Reliable, responsible and able to work effectively as part of a team
Experience operating a guillotine and brake press (highly desirable)
Stainless steel welding/fabrication experience (highly desirable)
Forklift license preferred
