Concrete Schoolyard is seeking an experienced disability support worker for ongoing individual support in Maroubra.

Experience supporting people with autism and schizophrenia is essential. We’re looking for someone calm, reliable and personable who can build trust, support independence and maintain qualified boundaries.

The role

Support includes community access, everyday activities, companionship and emotional regulation. An understanding of alcohol and other drug use, and a respectful, non-judgemental approach, would be valuable.

Hours and introduction

The role will begin with approximately one month of buddy shifts alongside an established support worker.

Preferred introductory availability is Tuesday and Thursday, 12 pm–5 pm. Monday or Wednesday may also be considered.

Subject to a successful introduction and participant suitability, the role may progress to evening shifts and:
Friday:



9 am–5 pm
Saturday: 9 am–5 pm

Additional hours may become available for the right worker. These later shifts are potential opportunities, rather than guaranteed starting hours.

Contractor rates
Weekday daytime: $53 per hour
Weekday evening: $58 per hour
Saturday: $73 per hour

Requirements
Relevant practical experience supporting people with autism and schizophrenia
ABN
Public liability and skilled indemnity insurance
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid and CPR
Driver’s licence and reliable car
Explicit communication and accurate support notes
Reliability and commitment to consistent ongoing support
