Kerr Contracting WA Pty Ltd (KCWA) is looking for a practical, mechanically minded and experienced person to join our growing business installing and maintaining industrial dust and fume control equipment throughout WA. Our work is varied and includes installing and servicing industrial dust collectors, ductwork, fans, blowers, filtration equipment and associated mechanical systems.
Key responsibilities
Installing industrial dust collectors and filtration equipment
Installing metal ductwork, supports, hoods and associated equipment
Installing and assisting with fans, blowers and mechanical equipment
Servicing and maintaining dust and fume extraction systems
Removing and replacing filters and components
Mechanical assembly, drilling, cutting, grinding, bolting and fitting
Fault finding and assisting with equipment repairs
Working from EWPs and at height
Preparing equipment and materials for upcoming jobs
Travelling throughout WA when required
About you
Strong mechanical aptitude and genuine hands-on experience
Experience in mechanical fitting, sheet metal, duct installation, HVAC installation, industrial maintenance, fabrication, construction, equipment installation or similar mechanical work
Confident using hand and power tools
Able to look at a mechanical problem and work out how to solve it
Able to measure, drill, cut, assemble and install accurately
Reliable and able to work independently without constant supervision
Comfortable with physical work and long days when required
Takes safety and workmanship seriously
Works well independently and as part of a small team
EWP, Working at Heights, Forklift and Confined Space tickets are advantageous but not essential

You'll work directly with the owner of the business across a wide variety of industrial projects and learn a specialised area of the mechanical industry.
