Role Description The Senior Accountant role at Lee Millar Accounting is a contract, in office position based in the Greater Perth Area.

The Senior

Accountant will manage end-to-end accounting and tax processes, including preparing financial statements, completing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and reconciling accounts, overseeing bookkeeping entries, and analyzing financial data to identify discrepancies and prospects for improvement. The role also involves liaising with clients to gather information, explain accounting and tax issues, and provide guidance on tax planning and financial management.

Accountant may support junior team members through review, mentoring, and quality assurance of their work.

Qualifications
Strong technical accounting skills, including financial statement preparation, general ledger management, and account reconciliation.
Tax expertise, including preparation of individual and business tax returns and knowledge of relevant Australian tax regulations.
Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets, with the ability to learn new systems and tools as needed.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills for client-facing work and internal collaboration.
Ability to work independently in office, manage multiple deadlines, and prioritize tasks in a busy tax practice.
Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance; skilled certification (such as CPA or CA) is an advantage.
Previous experience in public practice or tax accounting, ideally in a senior or supervisory capacity.
