Sales Executive - Freight Forwarding | Operations to Sales

You know how freight moves. Ready to win the business? If you work in freight forwarding operations or customer service and enjoy building relationships, solving problems and speaking with customers, a move into sales could be your next career step.

Our client is seeking a freight forwarding professional who wants to bring their industry knowledge into an entry-level sales role. Previous sales experience is not required. Your understanding of freight, communication skills and willingness to learn will be key.

About the role

You will focus on identifying business opportunities, developing customer relationships and helping businesses find suitable international freight solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
Researching and contacting prospective customers
Building relationships and understanding customers' freight requirements
Arranging and attending customer meetings
Preparing and following up on quotations and proposals
Working with operations and management to develop freight solutions
Maintaining accurate customer records and tracking sales opportunities




Following up consistently to turn conversations into recent business

About you

You have experience in international freight forwarding, ideally in operations or customer service, and are ready to explore the commercial side of the industry.

We are looking for someone who:
Understands air and/or sea freight processes
Enjoys speaking with people and building relationships
Is curious about customers' businesses and what they need
Communicates confidently over the phone, by email and in person
Is organised and follows through on commitments
Is comfortable initiating conversations and approaching recent customers
Is willing to learn, take feedback and work towards sales targets

You do not need an existing customer portfolio or a track record in sales. This prospect is about bringing your freight knowledge into a new role and developing your sales skills.
