As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice. You will provide outstanding customer service while supporting our specialist and maintaining productive administrative processes.
Key responsibilities
Welcome patients warmly and professionally.
Answer telephone enquiries and schedule appointments.
Manage patient registrations and ensure demographic information is accurate and up to date.
Process private billing and Medicare claims.
Contact new patients from referrals to arrange appointments.
Assist the ophthalmologist with administrative tasks.
Scan, email and process incoming and outgoing correspondence.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
Assist with closing the clinic when required.
Provide reception support during periods of staff leave.
About you
Previous reception or administrative experience.
Excellent computer and data entry skills.
Solid written and verbal communication skills.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to follow established procedures and maintain confidential records.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Full Australian working rights.
Police clearance.
Previous experience in a medical or specialist practice (desirable).
Experience using Xestro and / or Best Practice VIP practice management software (desirable).
