This well-established, privately owned construction and infrastructure business has built a solid reputation across Sydney over more than two decades, backed by a full pipeline of major projects and a close-knit finance team. It offers genuine career progression and places real value on the wellbeing of its people.
An exciting current opportunity has arisen for a Financial Accountant to take ownership of statutory reporting and compliance across a busy, project-driven finance function. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Own month-end close, including journals, accruals and balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare statutory financial statements and support external audit
Manage BAS, GST, FBT and payroll tax lodgements and reconciliations
Reconcile project costs, work in progress and retentions alongside project managers
Maintain the fixed asset register and oversee capital expenditure reporting
Visit active sites to understand project costs and strengthen reporting accuracy
Support cash flow reporting and bank reconciliations
Contribute to process and control improvements across the finance function
To be considered for this role you will have 3–4 years' experience in a similar role, ideally with exposure to construction, contracting or another project-based environment, along with a relevant tertiary degree in accounting or finance. You will be CA or CPA qualified, or near completion, with a solid grasp of statutory reporting and compliance, solid Excel skills, and the confidence to get out to site and build relationships beyond the finance team.
