REMOTE Senior Accountant / AM - CFO Advisory

Our client is a growing accounting and advisory firm based in Sydney. They work with clubs, hospitality, manufacturing, labour hire, tech and a range of other industries, across accounting, tax, payroll and governance.

This is a firm where progression is tied to capability, not tenure, with a genuine view to profit share and equity as you take on more.

The prospect
Fully remote opportunity with the occasional travel to meet with clients in Sydney. This is a broad, client-facing Senior Accountant role, not a narrow compliance seat. Reporting directly to the Director, you'll support CFO advisory engagements, lead the offshore accounting team, own client deliverables, and look after tax compliance and advisory work.

What you'll be doing
Assisting the Director on CFO advisory engagements: management reporting, budgeting, cash flow and business performance analysis
Preparing board and management reporting packs, and joining client meetings
Managing and mentoring the offshore accounting team: allocating work, reviewing output, and keeping quality and turnaround on track
Acting as the day-to-day link between the offshore team and Australian clients
Owning delivery for a portfolio of clients, including bookkeeping,



payroll and compliance work
Reviewing work from junior and offshore staff before it goes to clients or the Director
Preparing and reviewing income tax returns, activity statements and other lodgements for individuals, companies and trusts
Supporting tax planning and advisory work

Experience
CA or CPA qualified (or in the final stages)
5+ years' experience in public practice or a client‑facing accounting/advisory role
Comfortable preparing and reviewing returns for individuals, companies, trusts and not-for-profits/clubs
Experience managing or working closely with an offshore team, with solid review and delegation skills
A confident communicator who can run client conversations independently
Hands‑on with Xero, MYOB and Employment Hero
Exposure to clubs, hospitality, manufacturing, labour hire or tech is a plus
