Description
Salary: $99,707 to $158,523 a year, plus superannuation and salary packaging benefits.
Location: Adelaide, SA ****
Employment type: Full-time temporary position for up to 12 months, with the possibility of an extension.
Anatomical pathology trainees are rotated through all major metropolitan hospitals, as well as Forensic Science SA, namely:
Flinders Medical Centre (FMC)
the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH)
Womens and Childrens Hospital (WCH)
As a Registrar in Anatomical Pathology, you'll be an integral part of the SA Pathology Anatomical Pathology training program, working towards obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (FRCPA).
Under appropriate supervision, you'll contribute to the delivery of high-quality Anatomical Pathology, Cytology and Mortuary services.
You'll be involved in diagnosing diseases across a broad range of tissue, fluid and specimen types, playing a critical role in supporting clinical decision-making and patient outcomes.
Throughout your training, you'll actively participate in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, including teaching, case reviews and self-directed learning.




You'll also be encouraged to contribute to research activities that advance the field of Anatomical Pathology.
This role offers a comprehensive pathway to develop your expertise, with exposure to a wide variety of diagnostic challenges within a supportive and professionally rewarding environment.
The successful candidate will have:
a recognised medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with general registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pathologists, laboratory staff and administrators
competency in anatomical pathology appropriate to your training level, with the ability to meet report turnaround times and progress towards FRCPA requirements
a commitment to continuous learning, medical education standards, and maintaining professional development throughout your training
