We are seeking an
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - GRADE 1
to work in a
full time
(80 hours/fortnight) capacity based at
NHILL
.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This position will provide Occupational Therapy services in the areas of
rehabilitation, acute care, community care and in residential aged care using evidence-based practice.
Caseload allocation will be appropriate to experience level, with gradual progression across settings as competency develops.
WWHS supports ongoing professional development, including internal training, external CPD opportunities, and rural practice development.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
Current or eligible for registration as an Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate effectively with peers and other professionals and speak to community groups as required.
Demonstrated high level of written communication skills.
Ability to work independently but also as a member of a team.
Must be effective in a team and be able to demonstrate initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility.
Must be self-motivated and be responsible and responsive to a situation where a high level of professional autonomy exists.
Desirable
Previous placement or work experience in a hospital/healthcare setting.
Experience and understanding of issues specific to provision of services in rural and remote areas.
Have proven abilities in the assessment and development of strategies to improve function and participation in activities of daily living for a wide range of patients (paediatric to the older adult) with conditions such as musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular conditions using a problem-solving and objective approach and a demonstrated flexibility to manage a diverse caseload.
Competence in using computer programs including Microsoft Word, Outlook and other databases such as iCare, and Uniti.
Experience utilising the My Aged Care portal is also desirable
PRE-REQUISITES
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
Working with Children Check.
Fully vaccinated (including influenza) as per current Department of Health Directives.
Australian Driver's Licence.
