Vacancy: Commodity Manager - Direct Procurement
Location:Veneto Region
Salary:€70,000 + Benefits
The Role
We are recruiting aGlobal Commodity Managerto support and developdirect material commodity strategiesfor a global manufacturing business operating across multiple production sites.
This is astrategic procurement rolewithin a complex, matrix organisation.
You will be involved in developing and executing commodity strategies, managing supplier relationships, and delivering improvements across cost, performance and supply continuity.
The specific commodity or sector background isnot critical.
What is important is experience withindirect procurement in a manufacturing environment, strong commercial capability, and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across different functions and locations.
This could be an excellent opportunity for an experiencedBuyer, Commodity Manager or Category Managerlooking to take the next step into a broader global procurement role.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and execution ofglobal commodity strategiesfor direct materials and production-related components
Leadend-to-end sourcing activities, including market analysis, RFx, negotiation, contracting and supplier performance management
Develop and manage relationships withstrategic and key suppliers, ensuring quality, cost competitiveness and continuity of supply
Drivecost reduction and value creation initiativesusing benchmarking, market analysis and total cost of ownership approaches
Partner closely withEngineering, Operations, Quality and Supply Chainteams on demand planning, design changes and product lifecycle management
Support supplier consolidation, dual-sourcing and supply chain risk mitigation strategies
Develop and managesupplier agreements, preferred supplier lists, KPIs and SLAs
Monitor supplier performance and support corrective action plans where required
Work closely with regional and site procurement teams to ensure alignment between global strategy and local execution
Ensure sourcing strategies align withsustainability, compliance and ethical sourcing standards
Contribute to budget planning, forecasting and longer-term commodity strategies
About You
We are looking for a commercially minded procurement professional who is ready to take on greater responsibility within a global manufacturing environment.
You will ideally have:
5+ years' procurement experience, with a focus ondirect materials procurement within manufacturing
Experience within aBuyer, Commodity Manager, Category Manager or similar procurement position
Experience managing direct material commodities, including components, assemblies, raw materials or similar
Experience working within amultinational or matrix organisationwould be advantageous
Strong commercial, analytical and negotiation skills
The confidence to influence stakeholders across Engineering, Operations, Quality and Supply Chain
A structured, data-driven and pragmatic approach
Strong supplier management and relationship-building skills
The ambition to develop within a broaderglobal procurement setting
Willingness to work across international teams and travel when required
