About the role
The position works with councils, government agencies, internal specialists and other stakeholders to ensure transport impacts are appropriately managed.
Key responsibilities include providing clear advice, negotiating solutions, addressing road safety and traffic management issues, meeting statutory timeframes, preparing briefings and contributing to planning policies, guidelines and improvement projects.

Brings strong statutory planning expertise, applying sound judgement to routine and complex matters and providing practical planning advice.
Communicates and influences effectively, tailoring messages to different audiences, addressing concerns and engaging others to achieve positive outcomes.
Builds robust stakeholder relationships, understanding customer needs, managing expectations and resolving issues constructively.
Works effectively with others, building trust through active listening, understanding different perspectives and adapting your approach to support positive outcomes.
Thinks strategically and delivers on time, connecting day-to-day work to broader organisational and community outcomes while consistently meeting statutory timeframes.
Qualifications and experience
You'llbring:
A tertiary qualification relevant to Statutory Planning or Traffic and Transport Engineering, and/or relevant working experience.
(mandatory)
An understanding of traffic and transport engineering principles, with the ability to review Transport Impact Assessment Reports and experience relevant to the role, including growth area planning.
A current driver's licence and willingness to undertake occasional travel to regional and rural Victoria.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
