Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (
YMAC
) is the Native Title Representative Body (
NTRB
), delivering native title and other services across the Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia.
YMAC is run by a First Nations board of directors, representing several native title groups, each of whom have their own language, culture, traditions and protocols.
YMAC services include native title claim and future act representation; heritage services; executive office, community, and economic development assistance; land administration, and natural resource management support.

About the Role:
YMAC is seeking a Project Office (Grants) to join the Prescribed Body Corporate Executive Office team.
The team provides governance and capacity building services to a range of Prescribed Body Corporates (PBCs) across the Pilbara and Yamatji.
The Grants Officer is responsible for supporting PBCs to identify, develop and pursue funding opportunities that align with their strategic priorities and organisational capacity.
The role works directly with PBC Boards and relevant stakeholders to scope projects, assess grant readiness, coordinate and prepare funding applications, and support the effective handover, delivery and reporting of successful applications.
A key focus of the role is building the long-term grant capability of PBCs through practical resources, coaching and knowledge transfer, while maintaining a coordinated and transparent approach to grant support across the PBC portfolio.
About You:
You will have demonstrated experience coordinating complex projects or grant-funded programs involving multiple workstreams, contributors and stakeholders.
You will be highly organised, with the ability to translate funding agreements, strategies and program objectives into practical workplans, schedules, responsibilities, milestones and deliverables.
You will bring strong project governance and coordination skills, with experience monitoring scope, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, budgets and delivery performance.
You will be confident collecting and validating project evidence and preparing clear,
accurate and timely project, grant, milestone and executive reports.
You will be an effective communicator and relationship builder, with the ability to engage respectfully with Aboriginal organisations, Traditional Owners, Boards, communities and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
You will bring a collaborative approach, with the ability to facilitate discussions, coordinate contributors and maintain positive working relationships.
You will be analytical and solutions-focused, with strong problem-solving and risk-management skills.
You will be able to identify delivery issues, coordinate practical corrective action, work independently, exercise sound judgement and manage competing priorities in a changing, deadline-driven environment.
Experience with Australian Government grants, funding agreements, performance measures, financial monitoring, reporting and acquittal requirements will be highly regarded.
Knowledge of PBCs, native title governance and the operating workplace of Aboriginal corporations will also be desirable.
A current driver's licence and the willingness and ability to undertake regional travel, including travel to remote areas when required, is essential.

Selection Criteria
Experience
Demonstrated experience developing successful grant applications, business cases or funding submissions including coordinating input and supporting documentation from multiple stakeholders.
Demonstrated experience in supporting grant implementation, monitoring, evaluation, or acquittal of funded projects.
Demonstrated ability to research and assess funding opportunities and translate strategic priorities into well-scoped, feasible proposals with clear outcomes, activities, milestones, budgets,
risks and performance measures.
High-level written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear, persuasive and accurate grant applications, business cases, project plans and supporting materials for different audiences.
Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships and work collaboratively with Aboriginal organisations, Boards, communities and other stakeholders.
Sound judgement and organisational skills, including the ability to assess feasibility, risk, delivery capacity and competing deadlines to meet fixed funding deadlines.
Demonstrated facilitation, coaching and communication skills, with the ability to develop practical, plain-English resources and transfer knowledge to PBC Directors and staff.
Current driver's licence and ability to undertake regular regional travel, including travel to remote locations where required.
Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in grants, project management, community development, business, public policy or a related field
Experience with PBCs, native title organisations or Aboriginal community-controlled organisations
Knowledge of Australian Government, Western Australian Government and philanthropic funding programs including common eligibility, application and reporting requirements.
Skills
Ability to communicate clearly and build effective working relationships with PBC Directors, staff, community members, funding bodies, technical advisers and internal stakeholders.
Ability to plan and coordinate concurrent grant activities, maintain accurate records and meet non-negotiable submission and reporting deadlines.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail when preparing applications, budgets, supporting documentation, records and reports.
Demonstrated computer literacy skills in MS Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn and use grant portals, document-management systems and project tracking tools.
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and disciplines, coordinate input from others and contribute to integrated support for PBCs.
