Lead a multidisciplinary team supporting children and young people experiencing suicidal distress and self-harm concerns, and help shape compassionate, responsive care when it matters most.
About the Role
An exciting leadership opportunity is available for a Team Manager to join the Child & Youth Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (CY-HOPE) Team, within Monash Health's Infant, Child and Youth Area Mental Health & Wellbeing Program.
Based at Cranbourne Community Hospital, this is a fixed term part-time position (0.8 EFT until October ****) will see you provide operational and clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team supporting children, young people and their families.
Working in partnership with the Consultant Psychiatrist and Community Mental Health Service Manager, you will lead a diverse team of clinical, lived experience and wellbeing professionals, supporting high-quality, coordinated and culturally responsive care. Key Responsibilities will include:
Provide leadership and coordination across the multidisciplinary CY-HOPE team
Support effective patient flow, resource allocation and service delivery
Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to team members
Foster a collaborative, inclusive and cohesive team culture
Champion the contribution of lived experience and wellbeing workers within the team
Support the resolution of complex clinical and operational matters
Monitor service activity, outcomes and performance and contribute to reporting
Promote culturally responsive practice and meaningful engagement with young people, families and communities

About CY-HOPE
The Child & Youth HO PE Team provides wellbeing, psychosocial and peer support to children and young people aged 0–18 experiencing suicidal distress and self-harm concerns. CY-HOPE works alongside young people and their families during periods of significant vulnerability, providing support, connection and pathways to ongoing care.
As Team Manager, you will lead the team's day-to-day operations, support patient flow and clinical practice, and work closely with internal and external services to ensure children, young people and their families receive coordinated and responsive support.
About You
You are an experienced mental health clinician and people leader who brings compassion, sound clinical judgement and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people. You will bring:
Demonstrated leadership experience within mental health or a related clinical setting
Strong clinical knowledge, including assessment, risk assessment and crisis intervention
Experience leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams
The ability to provide effective supervision, coaching and performance support
Highly developed communication, relationship-building and conflict resolution skills
A collaborative and respectful approach to working with young people, families, carers and stakeholders
A commitment to culturally responsive, inclusive and recovery-oriented practice
An understanding of relevant mental health and child and youth legislation
The ability to contribute to service improvement, performance monitoring and high-quality service delivery
You value the different perspectives within a multidisciplinary team and understand the important contribution ofclinical, lived experience and wellbeing workforces in delivering responsive mental health care.
