Public Sector People are proud to partner with Livingstone Shire Council to recruit an experienced Coordinator Revenue Services.
This is an opportunity to step into a key leadership role within Council's Financial Services team, overseeing the day-to-day operations of Revenue Services and leading a team of five.
Reporting to the Manager Financial Services, you will bring strong revenue and accounting expertise together with people leadership, stakeholder management and a continuous improvement mindset.
The role will play an important part in ensuring Council's revenue operations are accurate, compliant and effective, while supporting the team through ongoing development, process improvement and knowledge sharing.
Relocation support is available for eligible candidates including up to $4,000 in relocation reimbursement and up to $2,000 in temporary accommodation support, subject to Council approval and conditions.
The Opportunity
As Coordinator Revenue Services, you will lead, develop and manage the Revenue team, ensuring high performance, operational effectiveness and a consistent approach to service delivery.
You will oversee Council's revenue systems, rating structures and processes, while providing specialist advice across revenue, rates, fees and charges, debt recovery and related financial matters.
This is a hands-on leadership role where your ability to support and develop your team will be just as important as your technical revenue expertise.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
Leading, developing and managing the Revenue Services team to deliver high performance and continuous improvement
Overseeing revenue systems, rating structures and processes to ensure accurate billing, collection and legislative compliance
Providing expert revenue and financial advice to internal stakeholders and the community
Supporting the development and review of revenue policies, procedures and processes
Contributing to budgeting, financial reporting, strategic financial planning, audits, reconciliations and internal controls
Managing Council's revenue accounts, fees and charges registers and associated processes
Identifying opportunities to improve revenue practices, systems and service delivery
Supporting effective resource management across the Revenue Services function
Building strong working relationships across Financial Services, Council and the broader community
Supporting the development of team capability, knowledge sharing and succession planning
Ensuring accurate records, sound governance and compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies
About You
You will be an experienced revenue or accounting professional who understands the complexities of revenue management and is confident leading a team in a local government or similar environment.
You'll bring robust technical capability, but equally important will be your ability to lead people, build relationships and identify practical opportunities to improve the way revenue services are delivered.
You'll Bring
Demonstrated experience in revenue accounting, rating legislation, debt recovery and/or related financial services
Strong understanding of rates, fees and charges and revenue processes
Proven people leadership and team management capability
Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills
The ability to interpret legislation, financial standards and Council policies and translate these into practical outcomes
Strong communication, consultation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Experience developing and improving policies, procedures and operational processes
Strong financial systems capability and sound organisational and time management skills
The ability to provide practical financial advice and work collaboratively across a range of stakeholders
A proactive approach to continuous improvement and team development
A strong commitment to professional and ethical conduct
You Will Also Hold
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Accounting or a related discipline
Substantial experience in a revenue management or accounting-focused position
Strong experience across financial and revenue management systems, with TechOne and Pathway experience highly regarded
A current C Class driver licence
Previous experience within a local government workplace will be highly regarded, particularly experience across rates, revenue, recovery and property-related functions.
