"Regional and rural communities deserve quality tertiary education opportunities to pursue their dreams, without the need to relocate"
CUC RAPAD Central West Queensland is seeking an experienced and community-minded Network Manager to lead our network of eight regional study hubs across Central West Queensland. This is a varied, hands‐on leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operation, development and sustainability of the network. The Network Manager leads a geographically dispersed team and oversees student services, facilities and technology, budgets and reporting, grant compliance, community engagement, partnerships and regional outreach.
Your Role
This is a highly rewarding and unique opportunity to shape the education landscape in the Central West Queensland region. The role works closely with the CUC RAPAD CWQ Board, staff, students, councils, education and training providers, government, employers and community organisations to expand access to education and training and respond to the changing workforce needs of the region. We are looking for someone who is an experienced leader, highly organised, confident working independently, comfortable managing people and competing priorities, and skilled at building strong relationships across diverse communities and organisations. A genuine commitment to educational access and creating opportunities for regional, rural and remote communities is essential.
What you'll be doing
Managing multiple Centre's facilities, resources and technology to maximise utilisation and accessibility
Developing and implementing operational plans and policies to support strategic goals
Fostering strong relationships with university partners, local stakeholders and the broader community
Overseeing the network's administrative functions, including finance, grants, HR and marketing
Leading, mentoring and developing a small team of support staff
Reporting on the network's performance to the Board and funders as well as contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
Providing high-quality student support and guidance, ensuring an exceptional learning experience
The position is based in Longreach and requires regular travel throughout the eight-hub network.
What we're looking for
Significant experience in a senior management or leadership role, ideally within the education or not‐for‐profit sector
Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship‐building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders
Strong operational and project management capabilities, with a proven track record of driving continuous improvement
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
Demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities facing regional and remote communities
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, such as business, education or social sciences.
What We Offer
At the CUC RAPAD, we're committed to supporting our employees and providing a rewarding work environment. Our generous perks package includes competitive remuneration,
professional development opportunities and a collaborative, inclusive culture.
About us
The CUC RAPAD is a not‐for‐profit organisation dedicated to increasing access to tertiary education in the Centre West Queensland region. We are part of a network of centres across Australia, providing students with a supportive learning environment, access to resources and personalised wrap‐around support along with extensive widening participation programmes. By removing geographic barriers to education, we're helping to create more equitable opportunities for people living outside metropolitan areas.
If you're passionate about making a difference in regional Queensland and want to be part of an innovative, purpose‐driven organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
The Longreach Region is where the spirit of the Australian Outback comes alive, offering iconic attractions, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality. From stunning sunsets reflecting on the Thomson River to the panoramic views atop Mount Slowcombe, the Longreach Region is a paradise for nature enthusiasts. /
For centuries, Longreach has stood the test of time and grown in the hearts of many. From a place steeped in Aboriginal history and Australian folklore, to the industrial and agricultural booms of last century, the region continues to evolve. Longreach is the economic and social hub of Western Queensland, globally connected, but locally inspired.
Here you'll find everything you need, whether it's great coffee, live music, or award‐winning restaurants. You'll be spoilt for choice for things to do with friends and family. There's also plenty of outside fun with annual river events, country races, sporting events and community markets.
