ASSISTANT BAR MANAGER | STEP UP & MAKE YOUR MARK

We’re looking for an experienced bartender ready to take the next step, or an existing bar leader looking for a brilliant new opportunity in Byron Bay.

Working alongside the venue leadership team, you’ll help lead the bar operation, support and develop the team, maintain great standards and make sure the drinks are flowing smoothly through even our busiest services.

You’ll bring strong cocktail and beverage knowledge,



confidence behind the bar and the ability to lead from the front.

We’re looking for someone who understands that great bar leadership is about more than making a brilliant drink — it’s about people, pace, consistency, organisation and creating a great experience for both guests and the team.

WAITSTAFF, RUNNERS & BARTENDERS | COME JOIN THE FLOOR

Our floor and bar teams are at the heart of the Light Years experience.

For our experienced section waitstaff, we’re looking for confident hospitality people who can own a section, read their tables and deliver warm, knowledgeable service while keeping things moving through a busy sitting.

For our bartenders, cocktail knowledge and experience are fantastic, but so are personality, curiosity and a genuine love of hospitality.

And if you’re earlier in your hospitality career, our food runner and casual floor opportunities could be a brilliant place to keep learning.

You don’t need to know everything on day one.

We care about attitude, reliability, personality and a willingness to learn.

KITCHEN | JOIN THE CREW

Our kitchen is fast-paced, high-volume and built around bold flavours and consistent execution.

We’re looking for chefs and kitchen crew across a range of experience levels - from developing cooks who want to keep building their skills through to experienced chefs who can confidently own a section and support the wider team.

You’ll work with quality produce, a brilliant menu and a kitchen team where everyone has an important part to play.

For our more experienced chefs, we’re looking for people who can bring more than technical ability.

We want chefs who can lead during service,



support and develop those around them, maintain standards when things get busy and contribute positively to the culture of the kitchen.

We’re looking for Kitchen Hands who are reliable, energetic and ready to get stuck in.

We know a outstanding kitchen simply doesn’t function without a brilliant support crew, and we value the role our Kitchen Hands play in keeping everything moving.

You’ll need to be comfortable working at pace, supporting the chefs and being part of a team where everyone helps each other when service gets busy.

Experience is great, but attitude and reliability matter enormously to us.
