Barto Gold is a privately owned Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer operating since 2009. Focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia, our flagship Marvel Loch project operates multiple open pits and underground mines servicing a 2.1Mt per annum processing facility. Supported by a tenement holding of over 1,400 km² in the Southern Cross Greenstone Belt, we are strategically positioned for continued growth.

About the role

As a Gold Processing Engineering Technologist, you'll support secure, stable and efficient operation of the gold processing plant. You'll apply your engineering training to monitor equipment and process performance, troubleshoot issues, run plant trials, support commissioning, and help implement practical engineering improvements.

Working with the Processing Superintendent, Metallurgy Superintendent, Project Engineers, operators and maintainers, you'll play a key role in identifying constraints, developing technical solutions and verifying that changes deliver sustained results.

Key responsibilities

- Analyse equipment, process trends and operational data to identify losses, instability and reliability issues.
- Develop practical engineering modifications and operating recommendations.
- Plan and execute controlled plant trials, including sampling, risk assessment and success criteria.
- Provide technical support during shutdowns, installations, commissioning and start‑ups.
- Diagnose deviations in throughput, recovery, reagent use, power consumption and equipment utilisation.
- Maintain technical documentation, test records, change‑management files and as‑built drawings.
- Configure and validate plant data systems, dashboards and reporting tools.
- Ensure all engineering changes follow WHS legislation,



risk assessment and management‑of‑change processes.
- Work collaboratively with processing, maintenance, HSE and technical teams to deliver safe, verified outcomes.

About you

You will bring:

- A Bachelor degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process Engineering, Engineering Technology, Metallurgy or similar (AQF Level 7).
- Minimum 1 year experience in a minerals processing, gold plant or heavy industrial environment.
- Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles to real‑world plant issues.
- Competence with engineering calculations, drawings, data systems and analysis of large operational datasets.
- Working knowledge of WA mining safety legislation, risk assessment and management of change.
- Strong technical communication and report‑writing skills.
- A current C‑class driver's licence and ability to meet site medical and induction requirements.

Desirable: Experience with gold processing (CIL/CIP, gravity recovery, crushing, grinding, leaching, elution, electrowinning), process optimisation, commissioning, automation, telemetry or continuous improvement methodologies.
