Position Number: POS 425
Salary Range:

- Base Salary: From $54,217.80 to $62,353.20 (Grade 14, Step 1 to Step 4) per annum for part-time 21 hours per week.
- Plus: 12% superannuation.
- Total Package: $60,724.00 to $69,836 (Grade 14, Step 1 to Step 4) per annum for part-time 21 hours per week.

The successful candidate will have access to step increases for the grade based on competency assessment and tenure within this position.

The Opportunity

Strathfield Council is seeking a motivated Project Support Officer to join our team.

In this role, you will support the delivery of place activation, town-centre improvements, events and grant-funded projects that contribute to vibrant public spaces, community participation and local economic development. You will work collaboratively across Council and with external stakeholders to coordinate project planning, engagement, implementation, monitoring and reporting.

What You Will Be Doing

- Coordinate place-making projects in line with project schedules,



funding requirements and guidelines
- Supporting project planning, implementation, trial activations, evaluation and acquittal activities
- Monitoring project progress, actions, dependencies and risks
- Coordinating operational, infrastructure and site requirements to support successful project delivery
- Engaging with local businesses, community members, event organisers and other stakeholders
- Supporting consultation, communications and stakeholder engagement activities
- Preparing and maintaining project documentation, progress reports and grant records
- Monitoring project expenditure and supporting financial and grant reporting
- Supporting the collection and analysis of data to evaluate project outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Essential Requirements

- Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Events, Economic Development, Engagement or a related discipline and/or extensive industry experience
- Demonstrated experience coordinating projects with multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and deadlines
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain work plans, and competing priorities with limited supervision
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and accurate reports, briefings, procurement documents and grant-supporting evidence
- Effective stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, including the ability to work constructively with technical specialists, operational teams, businesses, community representatives, consultants and contractors
- Working knowledge of project governance, risk management, procurement,



budget monitoring, records management and evaluation practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate consultation, operational information and data into practical actions and recommendations
- High level of organisational skills and ability to manage projects, including planning, consultation, budget and grant management, as well as data monitoring and evaluation.

Desirable

- Experience in place activation, public-space projects, and local economic development initiatives
- Experience administering NSW Government grants or preparing milestone, evaluation and acquittal reports
- Experience working in Local Government.
